Global Warming and Climate Change

The image I have created from photos I have found on the internet represents climate change and global warming. As you can see one half of my picture states that this is what our world would look like if we carry on infecting the air and stuff. Climate change is a long-term change in our world's weather. This can be caused by nature and volcano eruptions. Humans can also cause climate change. This can happen from the carbon dioxide that is released into the air by factories, cars, planes and etc. Climate refugees are the victims of the climate change. They must leave their homes and countries in order to survive. 

 

Making Quiche's

Today in food tech I and Tamati learned how to make ham and cheese Quiches. Our skills for this week are 1. follow the instruction steps, 2. How to read the ingredients and last but not least 3. How to measure the right ingredients.

Tokelau

Tokelau has an increase in there storms and weather than other countries and that's why they built a sea wall because their island is only 5 meters and ( 16 feet ) they are just above sea level. If water rises any higher they don’t need to be worry cause their seawall will be there to stop any seawater from coming in, until it breaks.

Their school is on another Island because their main Island is too small for a school. Their years only go up to form 4. Once finished most of them go straight to work, helping the elders and the Island. Only some get scholarships to other countries for better education.

On this day I’ll Be going back to Tokelau. The trip will take at least 1 or 2 days to arrive at Tokelau, the time I’ll be going back to Tokelau will be 8:35 am and I’ll be catching a ferry to go there, it’s going to be awesome once I get there, I'm also happy that now my country has solar panels and its 24/7 which means I can at least watch some T.V at least.

But once I get there we're gonna sleep on a high area cause their storm has increased so there be more storms than usual back in my childhood there were fewer storms, I’m also gonna build my own shelter at least and even have my own solar panels.

Food Tech

My partner tamati and I made some "perfectly cooked" Hot cakes in food tech today. It was a short and simple lesson.

Social Studies

Today in social studies I learned 2 new concepts and they were Globalization and Modernisation. The first concept, Globalization means the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale. For example, our school meeting and learning from other schools. The second and last concept, Modernisation means The procedure of trying to adapt something to a modern state. For e.g, Old devices trying to keep up with the new modern products.

Anzac Day

Anzac Day, 25th of April is the day of remembrance for the fallen of all wars, but specifically, it commemorates the day Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli in 1915. On this date at 5am or 6 around the Auckland region, the Anzac dawn services commence honoring the fallen soldiers from NZ and Australia that landed in Gallipoli, Turkey. They wear red poppies because the Gallipoli battlefront was covered in poppies and the red color of the poppies represents the blood of the fallen.
